"Our relationship started with Owners Club in November, 2000. Newly retired, but at a relatively young age, my wife and I were looking for a travel destination that was warmer in the winter than our home in Toronto. In addition the destination needed to have a natural calm environment, close to the ocean and have a diversity of activities with a primary focus on golf.

The Owners Club at Hilton Head currently has unlimited cart fee only golf, with no restrictions, at eight premier courses on Hilton Head Island. This is cart fee only golf any time during the day - any day of the year ( see Golf Privileges - Amenities page for full details). A one time investment will give you and your family a 1/13 share (the 1/13 share guarantees at least twenty seven days per year - usage can be one day to twenty-seven days at a time - or they can be used concurrently). Our decision also included some financial considerations. We wanted a “home away from home” but didn’t want the cost and ongoing responsibilities that came along with owning a second property.

Upon visiting Owners Club of Hilton Head Island it became apparent to us that our needs, and the Owners Club proposition, merged together perfectly. The island environment was exactly what we were looking for and the fractional ownership of an 2,000 square foot house offered us a vacation home, when we wanted one, without the hassle of maintaining and financing a second house.

Since our first visit in March 2001 till this day we have enjoyed every vacation at Owners Club. We have visited all of the other properties in the USA and Mexico and have never been disappointed. The homes in all the locations, especially Hilton Head, are well maintained, clean and comfortable.

In November, 2005 we were made aware that Owners Club was planning to expand the value of our ownership. We speculated that if the planned negotiations with Registry Collection and the extension of “unlimited cart fee only” agreement with Golden Bear Course at Indigo Run were concluded, the value of the fractional units at Hilton Head could only increase. We took a chance and purchased two additional units. In the spring of 2006, we were pleased to hear that the planned agreements were completed.

Now we spend approximately two months per year in Hilton Head and transfer one into The Registry Collection. Our experience has been fantastic with Registry. It is our hope to travel to all of the global destinations offered. Access into Registry through Owners Club has increased the value of our ownership and given to us the opportunity to travel to other high quality destinations at a relatively low cost.

In summary, we have never regretted our decision to originally purchase a unit and then expand our relationship with the Owners Club of Hilton Head Island. I continue to recommend that friends and acquaintances look at Owners Club if they are looking for their “home away from home”.
